My Dear Friends in Christ,
Welcome to the St. Jude the Apostle Parish website. We hope that you will find it helpful in getting to know our parish. Our parish is a result of the 2007 merger of the parishes St. Vincent de Paul, St. John the Evangelist and Sacred Heart. Since that merger, we have continued to grow in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are blessed in our growth in new members and parish ministries. This website will help you become familiar with our parish and who to call for whatever information you may need.
Newcomers are always welcome and we look forward to you taking an active part in the life of our parish.
This website will help you stay current with upcoming events and activities through our weekly bulletin and parish calendar. We have an abundance of ministries that should afford everyone an opportunity to get involved and to get to know your fellow parishioners. Our strength as a parish community comes through our worshiping together and participating in the ministries and activities our parish offers.
Enjoy browsing over this site and let us know if there is any way we can help you. May God bless you and help us grow together in his peace and love.
In Christ’s Peace,
Rev. Mathew J. Simonar
We are a community that celebrates faith.
Ours is a community, not of neighborhood, but of choice.
We recognize and respect the wide diversity of persons who come together to celebrate. Our celebrations encompass sacramental moments, significant life experiences, and parish social gatherings.
We see ourselves as striving to be a people of on-going conversions, of reaching out to those in need, and of life-long learning...to do the right and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God (Mi 6:8)
This recognition of who we are directs us to focus upon the following dimensions:
Liturgy, which is life-giving;
Peace and Social Justice, which compels us to confront the sins of our Times;
Education Opportunities, which lead to wholeness and holiness offered for all ages, with an emphasis on adult learning;
Small Christian Communities, which provide a unique experience of Church, and,
Stewardship, which challenges us to share our time, talent, and treasure.
With God's help may we attain, in a deeper way, all that we are and hope to become.
The Saint Jude Religious Education Office is located in the Parish Office Building at 1025 West 5th Ave.
We are a community united in faith in Jesus Christ and grounded in the traditions of the Catholic Church. We embrace the continuation of Christ’s mission on earth by proclaiming the Gospel and celebrating the sacraments.
We at St. Jude the Apostle parish are laying the foundations for a parish built in the image of Jesus. To accept who we are today is to accept a limited edition of who God intends us to be. We can not be satisfied with who we were yesterday when we know that Jesus promised us the Glory of God tomorrow.
St. Jude was born into a Jewish family in Paneas, a town in the Galilee portion of ancient Palestine, the same region in which Jesus grew up.
