What Is Alpha?

Got questions about life? Try Alpha!

Alpha is a practical overview of the Christian faith and is open to everyone. It runs as a series of ten meetings which each involve an informal meal, a talk, and small group discussion. It is relaxed, friendly, and fun. Alpha is for everyone.

When and Where Will the St. Jude Alpha Meet?

We invite you join us for our first Alpha meeting on Wednesday, September 19, in St. Jude’s Leannah Hall. (You can park in the Sacred Heart Church lot between 5th and 6th Ave., around the corner from Knapp St.) Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm, with the program to begin at 6:00 pm, and ending around 7:20 pm (so parents can pick up their children from religious ed classes next door).

Who Should Try Alpha?

All are welcome.

We encourage you to attend our first Alpha session and bring a friend or family member, especially if they have questions, reservations or doubts about faith!

The timing is particularly convenient for parents with children in religious education or younger. Alpha meetings coincide with religious ed nights, and babysitting will be provided on-site for younger children.

How Do I Join Alpha?

Just show up! Registration for Alpha is not required. However, to help us plan for meals and setup, we encourage you to register in one of three ways: (1) register online (click here), (2) fill out a registration card and drop it off at the parish office or place it in the collection basket at Mass, (3) call the parish office at 235-7412.

If you have any questions about Alpha, don’t hesitate to contact Rob Saley at the St. Jude Parish Office: rsaley @, 235-7412.
